It’s been 8 years since Michael’s portfolio sale to GoDaddy, how has it aged in your opinion?

It has now been 8 years since Mike sold his portfolio of approximately 70,000 domain names. The sale price came in at $35.5M. 4 years ago we asked what readers thought of the sale?

Another 4 years have passed, we have had a pandemic, NFTs, extensions like .IO and .xyz make some moves and now many are gaga over .Ai.

Back in 2019 Andrew Rosener commented,

The bulk of the value in that sale beyond the $xxx per name GD paid was in the liquid stuff like numerics, 3 Letter .com’s, etc… He sold his portfolio within maybe 60 – 90 days of the absolute top of the market. Maybe less!

It was an immaculately timed exit and he would get a much lower price today.

So now that we are 8 years since the sale, how would you feel if it had been your sale? Happy, seller’s remorse or somewhere in between?
