It’s the holiday season and most everyone can use a little extra cash at this time of the year.
This post should be used to sell a name where you are making some money with no commission, and leave a little for the next buyer.
You are allowed to list 5 .coms you are looking to sell up to $1,000..
In the past it’s been in this sweet spot of $500 where domains have been purchased as no one coming here is looking to pay end user prices. Some good buys have been made, I made one personally Pokernights.com for $500 which I sold this year for $9,999.
So please make sure you list 5 names max, like this
Name, asking price, registrar
Potential buyers are allowed to make an offer below your price unless you say FIRM. This is an attempt to drive more sales.
Every once in awhile there will be a comment about do we expect great names listed for $1,000? come on. No we don’t expect a great name, it’s about a name you want to sell that another domainer would want to buy, a deal where both sides feel good.
We have done $3,000 and $5,000 limits and guess what? No sales, partly because people just post a reg fee name at the max limit.
Names will get some added exposure on Twitter, which is where about one third of sales have generated from previous posts.
So not to waste anyone’s precious time, any post that strays from this will be deleted. Examples:
- More than 5 names listed
- Another extension other than .com
- A paragraph to describe the reasons why someone should buy.
- Critiquing another poster’s domain name.
- Listing price over $1,000
No need to post or email why did my comment get deleted ? If your post does not look like Name, Fixed Price, Contact, it will be deleted. Also no need to email if comment not approved, if I did not see your comment, I did not see your email. Some people do post when I am sleeping for a few hours, if it gets held in moderation it will get approved once I see it, no need to worry or post, why is my comment in moderation?
If you make a sale leaving a comment is appreciated.
